The Archives & Special Collections division at Hunter College houses manuscripts, printed materials, photographs, ephemera, unique objects, and rare books.  Founded in 1870 as The Normal College of the City of New York, a women’s school for training teachers, Hunter’s collections reflect its rich and unique history.  The Archives acquires, preserves and gives access to records of enduring value generated by academic departments, administrative offices, faculty, student organizations, and affiliated organizations.

The Archives is open to students, faculty, staff, and researchers.   We look forward to hearing from you.
