Order: 3rd Dates: 1929 - 1933 A native New Yorker, whose education, through college, was received in the publicly supported schools of the City, Dr. Kieran joined the faculty of the Normal College in 1904 as professor of philosophy and education following twenty years as a teacher and principal in the public schools and as an assistant and associate superintendent of schools. In 1927 he was appointed dean of the faculty of education; in 1928 he served as acting president. Construction of Hunter’s Bronx campus began during his term of office. |
