�SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The Faculty Council of Hunter College was superseded by the Hunter College Senate in 1971 as the legislative body of the College with authority for determining College policy in matters related to: 1. Curriculum 2. Academic Requirements and Standards 3. Instruction and the Evaluation of Teaching, and 4. College Development The voting members of the Hunter College Senate consist of administrators, faculty, and students. The Senate is comprised of 12 Standing Committees and a varying number of ad-hoc committees. Membership on committees is open to all faculty and students. This collection consists of the minutes of the Hunter College Senate (1971 - 2004) and copies of the Senate News Bulletin (1973 - 2004). The minutes for the years 1997 - 2002 are incomplete. Both the minutes and the Senate News Bulletin are arranged chronologically.

�SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The Hunter College Administrative Committee came into existence in 1930 with the creation of the Board of Higher Education. The committee assumed some of the duties and responsibilities of the former Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Normal/Hunter College which functioned from 1888 to 1915. The Hunter College Administrative Committee produced a variety of documents consisting of minutes, resolutions, academic appointments, promotions, leaves of absence, retirements and resignations, curriculum changes and recommendations, capital budgets, contracts, and grants and awards. On January 25, 1963, the Hunter College Administrative Committee was renamed the Hunter College Committee. The minutes are arranged chronologically for the years 1933 to 1970.
