Criterion Collection and Database Trials

Due to overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community, the Hunter College Libraries purchased The Criterion Collection streaming video database! You may access it via the list of Databases on the library home page or by following this link:

We also have four new database trials currently active. They are accessible both on- and off-campus. You will need to log in with your Hunter NetID and password if you are off-campus. Please check them out and tell us what you think. We do take your feedback seriously!

Accessible Archives (trial through October 11):
“Diverse primary source materials reflecting broad views across American history and culture have been assembled into comprehensive databases. Developed by dedicated instructors and students of Americana, these databases allow access to the rich store of materials from leading books, newspapers and periodicals then current.”

Loeb Classical Library (trial through November 15):
“Over a century ago, James Loeb announced the founding of the Loeb Classical Library and his intention to bring the written treasures of the ancient Greek and Roman world “within the reach of all who care for the finer things in life.” Now it gives us great pleasure to welcome you – old friends and newcomers, scholars, students, and general readers alike – to the digital Loeb Classical Library, and to invite you to enjoy its Greek and Latin texts alongside English translations, in the familiar ways and in surprisingly new ones.”

Psychological Experiments Online (trial through November 11):
Psychological Experiments Online is a multimedia collection that synthesizes the most important psychological experiments of the 20th and 21st centuries, fostering deeper levels of understanding for students and scholars alike. These experiments have far-reaching impacts on fields as diverse as sociology, business, advertising, economics, political science, law, ethics, and the arts.

Rosetta Stone (trial through October 11):
This is our second Rosetta Stone trial - we received much positive feedback from the first and wanted to give more people a chance to try it out. Below is some important information from our sales representative about accessing this trial:
**Each user will need to create their own personal account (think “My EBSCOhost”) – they must enter their email and create a password (no other information is required).  They can log into the Rosetta Stone trial from on or off campus with their login credentials.

This trial is a full representation of all of the content included in the Rosetta Stone Library Solution (institutional access).  30 languages are included in the Rosetta Stone Library Solution subscription / trial
