Anthropology Collections
From the Anthropology Department of the California Academy of Sciences. Has online exhibits of its collection of ethnographic and archaeological artifacts, including Hopi, native Alaskan, native Hawaiian, as well as from East Africa, The Middle East, Europe, and Central and South America.

Emuseum, Minnesota State University, Mankato
Online "museum" with an easy-to-use layout and much useful information in anthropology and archaeology. First "floor" has archaeological "exhibits" by region. Second floor covers physical anthropology, language, and selected cultures. The third floor has links to the editors' home pages. All are members of the faculty at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Ethnographic Studies Resources

From the University of California, Santa Barbara. Edited by two leaders in the field, Leda Cosmides and John Tooby. Has interviews and information on recent symposia. Also offers valuable background information on evolutionary psychology. Of note: "Evolutionary Psychology: A Primer," by Cosmides and Tooby.

The Evolutionary Psychology FAQ
Maintained by Edward Hagen, formerly of the Center for Evolutionary Psychology, University of California, Santa Barbara, and now the the Institute for Theoretical Biology, Humboldt University, Berlin. Useful site for those curious about the field but with little background in it.

Neanderthals and Modern Humans
Informative web site by an unaffiliated but informed scholar. The first page lucidly covers the many theories offered to explain the origin and disappearance of Neanderthals, as well as their relations to modern humans. Includes a bibliography of major books in the field since 1990. Lists major journals, museums, and centers. Provides links to related sites.

Ancient Mesoamerican Cultures
This site is maintained by Kevin Callahan of the Anthropology Department of the University of Minnesota. It focuses chiefly on the Maya, Mixtec, Zapotec, and Aztec, but covers other groups as well. Focuses on their writing systems, governments, and religions. Of interest to both specialists and non specialists.

Archaeology Data Service
A portal from the University of York in England providing access to archaeological archives and libraries throughout the British Isles. Also has a link the digital archaeological libraries of Poland, Romania, Denmark, Iceland, and Norway.
