Services

Reference: The Library serves the needs of 60 faculty and 750 students of the Hunter College School of Social Work. There are two full time librarians available to provide reference and bibliographic instruction to those who need it. Other services include preparation of special bibliographies, current acquisitions lists and an individualized packet of tables of contents for each full time faculty member. There is normally a librarian on duty until 10:00 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. During the evenings and on weekends, college assistants are on hand to provide limited reference service.
Use of Other Libraries: All CUNY college libraries are open to CUNY students with a valid ID. A METRO Referral card can be issued to graduate students who need to access materials available in private universities in the Metropolitan area which are not found in the CUNY collection. Interlibrary loan is available to all graduate students free of charge. 

Reserves: Reserve materials circulate in-house for a period of two hours. If multiple copies are available they are sent to the stacks and are assigned a one week circulation period. A fine of $1.00/day is imposed for each day these books are overdue.The maximum fine is $25.00. 

Copying Facilities: the Library has six public access photocopy machines. Copies paid for with coins cost $0.10/copy while copies made with a copy card are $0.085/copy.
