Study Room Policy

Hunter College's main library has 4 individual/group study rooms:  E112, E505, E605, and E706.

These rooms are available to be reserved by HUNTER STUDENTS ONLY. Current Hunter id is required.  No reservations can be taken from students from IELI, Hunter Science High School or Hunter High School.  No reservations can be taken from alumni, Staff or Faculty. 

General Procedures

  • Reservations MUST be made in person at the Reserve Desk.

  • Reservations can be made for a maximum of 2 hours.

  • Reservations must be made at least one day in advance, but no more than one week in advance.

  • Students may not reserve the room for the entire semester.

  • Reservations will be forfeited after 10 minutes if the users fail to appear.

  • If they are not reserved, study rooms will  available on a first come, first served basis.

  • Anyone using a study room must vacate the room when the room has been reserved.

  • No food in the study rooms.
  • If the door is locked, please go to the reserve desk.

  • For EB112 only: The physical Science Study Center and the Socrates Center may book this room for up to 3 hours per day as either a 3 hour block or in separate one hour segments.

Access Accommodation Study Room Reservation Policy

  • Room 205-210 are available for students registered with the Hunter Office of Accessibility.

  • They may be reserved in person at the reserve desk or by phone  212-772-4160/4162.

  • No reservation may be made more than 1 week in advance.

  • Students must present both their college id and their Access Accommodation id at the reserve desk.

  • Reservations can be made for a maximum of 2 hours.

  • Reservations will be forfeited after 10 minutes if the users fail to appear.

  • If they are not reserved, study rooms will  available on a first come, first served basis.
