Highlights from the Hunter College Archives

Based on the holdings of the Hunter College Libraries’ Archives & Special Collections division, this is a collection of articles and other relevant items from the publications of Hunter College (and the Normal College that preceded it) on the history of the College, its faculty, administrators, students and alumni, buildings, the Bronx campus, anniversaries and events, and other items of particular interest to those looking for information about Hunter.  The collection can be searched by author, name of publication, topic, title and date of publication.

Hunter College Presidents Gallery

The Hunter College Presidents’ Gallery is a collection of photographs and short biographical entries on each of the 13 Hunter College Presidents from Thomas Hunter, the first president appointed in 1870, to Jennifer J. Raab, the 13th appointed in 2001.  Biographical entries are also included for all the Acting/Interim presidents who also served.  Each president’s information is in chronological order according to his/her term of office.  Links are provided to the finding aids for their collections where available.  Enjoy this view of Hunter’s history through the eyes of its presidents.

Images of the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Collection 1920's - 1980's

The images in this slideshow exhibit are from the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Collection, 1892-1994, which is housed in Archives & Special Collections of the Hunter College Libraries of the City University of New York.  Special thanks to Mrs. Maria Enaboifo, a Project Sesame Intern from Long Island University, who assisted Professor Julio Hernandez-Delgado in the selection and mounting of the photographic exhibit.
