The Hunter College Writing Across the Curriculum Program, Library, and Office of Instructional Computing and Information Technology Announce:
New Online Tutorial for New MLA Documentation Style
Changes have been made - big, important changes - in the Modern Language Association system of documentation of sources in research papers. And Hunter College is ready to help students and faculty familiarize themselves with the new system and learn to use its new features.
The Hunter College Writing Across the Curriculum Program, Library, and ICIT announce the publication of a new online tutorial, designed and created by Hunter faculty, staff, and students, on the updated MLA Documentation Style. In a unique collaboration of departments and programs, including the Hunter College Reading/Writing Center, this new interactive e-learning module is being made available to the entire university community. Just click on http://library.hunter.cuny.edu/tutorials/mla/mla_tutorial.html and access the tutorial, complete with examples, explanations, and exercises.
The new Seventh Edition of the MLA Handbook, with the revised system, is now available, and faculty can require use of the updated documentation style in the Fall ‘09 semester. So faculty, students, instructional staff, and college-based researchers should study the tutorial, review its new requirements and stylistic revisions, and apply its lessons to their assigned writing. Send comments and questions to Dennis Paoli, Co-coordinator of WAC and Coordinator of the RWC, at dpaoli@hunter.cuny.edu.
