Your Ebrary Top 15

The CUNY Libraries started subscribing to a large collection of e-books, called Ebrary Academic Complete, last February.  Since then, Hunter users have viewed these e-book pages 175,210 times and have printed 18,111 pages in 49,228 sessions.

 Fifteen books had more than 1000 views in the less than eight months that we have had access, and a mixed bag they are:

1.  Banned in the USA : a Reference Guide to Book Censorship          3,752 hits
2. Terrible Swift Sword:  the Legacy of John Brown      3,222 hits
3. Lydia’s Open Door: Inside Mexico’s Most Modern Brothel            2,449 hits
4.  Word Origins: the Hidden Histories of English Words      2,027 hits
5.  Purity and Danger: an Analysis of the Concepts of Pollution and Taboo             1,627 hits
6.  Cultural Nature of Human Development              1,543 hits
7.  Collaborative Treatment of Traumatized Children and Teens         1,436 hits
8.  Metamorphosis: a Play         1,297 hits
9.  What Type of Leader are You?     1,179 hits
10.  Interesting Narrative of the life of Olaudah Equiano      1,073 hits
11.  Official Guide to the New TOEFL iBT              1,056 hits
12. Nurse’s Pocket Guide: Diagnoses, Prioritized Inteventions, and Rationales   1,028 hits
13.  Samuel Beckett:  Repetition, Theory and Text    1,026 hits
14.  Women in the 18th Century          1,023 hits
15.  Moliere: the Theory and Practice of Comedy      1,007 hits
