Rosa Parks
December 3rd, 2009 by Sarah Laleman Ward
This just popped up on USA.gov’s Twitter feed and I thought it was too cool and important not to share:
On December 1, 1955, a 42 year-old woman took a seat near the front of the bus. Thank you Rosa Parks. http://go.usa.gov/lCx
The link takes you to an image from the National Archives of a of a court document diagram of the bus showing where Rosa Parks was seated, with a link to more information about the arrest of Rosa Parks. The other document images included are the police report and her fingerprint card. It’s pretty incredible! And to think, this was only 54 years ago.
