Remembering 9/11

September 11th, 2009 by Sarah Laleman Ward

How much difference does a day make? Here are the headlines from the New York Times on September 11, 2001:

There are, of course, countless websites and news stories devoted to the tragic events of September 11, 2001. But I just noticed, on the CUNY Portal, a link to a CUNY-specific 9/11 Remembrance site.

On the site’s home page, Chancellor Goldstein states:

To honor the memory of those who lost their lives on 9/11, the University community has gathered at this virtual site to share memories, images, stories and thoughts about the events of that day and their many aftereffects. This year, new poetry and prose pieces by CUNY faculty, staff and students have been added to the archives.

So visit the site, maybe make a contribution, and reflect a little bit. Where were you eight years ago today?
