Looking for the “Top” articles in your field?

Science publishers are busily revamping their portals, to make them Web 2.0 “friendly” with streamlined interfaces to their output (journals, books, web only content, etc.). Among the new features that these sites provide are links to highly-accessed articles:
Science Direct’s “Top Hottest Articles”
ACS (American Chemical Society) Most-Accessed Articles
or…links to articles by “cloud tags” as this one from Scitation, the portal from the American Institute of Physics
Cloud Explorer (American Institute of Physics)
Such popularity contests might not yet replace more traditional rankings (e.g. ISI Impact factor, etc.), but they are getting their due. What do you think?
