HUNTER COLLEGE LIBRARY DAY
APRIL 8, 2008
On April 8, the Hunter College Library was once again honored—as it happens every year—by our writing awards winning students, and by the illustrious faculty that teach them.
Distinguised Professor Peter Carey, Booker Prize winning author, and director of Hunter College’s M.F.A. program in writing was the guest speaker. Mr. Carey read from his most recent novel, His Illegal Self (Knopf 2008).
In addition to Mr. Carey, 36 other members of the Hunter College faculty honored the library with their publications. Among these were the following faculty members in the departments of Philosophy and Romance Languages & Literatures:

As selector of Romance language literatures and philosophy, it is my pleasure to present this partial list—and partial it is, since it reflects book publications—of the number of books published in one year by our Hunter College faculty in their respective disciplines.
My apologies to anyone whose name I have inadvertently left out; and please do let me know if I have left out your name. To my colleagues on this list, and to those who do not appear herein, but who were part of the 36 faculty members who honored the library with their publications, I thank you and congratulate you.
