Research Consultations

March 3rd, 2014 by Philip Swan

When you have a basic research question you can always come up to the reference desk of any of the Hunter College Libraries, you can email your question, or you can chat online with us. However, as we near the middle of the semester and you find yourself facing midterm papers a research consultation with a librarian is an excellent way to get you through even the most complex research assignments. A Hunter College librarian can help you focus on a research topic, plan a research strategy, identify the most relevant sources of information, and
do all of this an efficient way that will save you time researching so that you can focus on writing that A paper. Research consultations for individuals or groups can be up to an hour long and are available for Hunter College students, faculty and staff. Please allow a minimum of two days for us to schedule an appointment with you.

  1. Amanda Lewis Says:

I would like to set up a consultation with a research librarian.

I am an urban affairs graduate student and would like assistance with searching for information about the Jamaica Bay area and urban and or community resilience. I have some familiarity with several of the databases such as academic search premier, sage, jstor, pro quest and cq researcher but would like to know how or if i should expand my search outside of these databases and also, how to enhance my searching technique.
