National Library Week Celebrations (a little early)

April 13th, 2010 by Sarah Laleman Ward

This week is National Library Week, and since we at Hunter College are early birds, we celebrated with a couple of events last week. We’d like to thank all who attended the events at the Wexler Library, as we had two successful days of events in library: Library Day on April 7 and the E-resources Fair on April 8.

A substantial number of students and faculty turned out on Wednesday to hear Professor Michael Thomas read from his forthcoming work. Additionally, awards for the Research Paper Contest and Book Essay Competition were given, and members of the faculty were on hand to sign and dedicate their recentĀ  publications to the library.

April 8 was our first ever E-resources Fair, at which five of our database vendors were on hand to demonstrate their products, answer questions, and give away free stuff.

Here is a slide show of photographs from our two days of events last week. Thanks again to all who attended and Happy National Library Week!
