Happy Valentine’s Day!
February 14th, 2011 by Sarah Laleman Ward
If you thought the library was all work and no play, think again. We have stuff related to pretty much every holiday you can think of, including Valentine’s Day.
Need a quick love poem to woo your beloved? Try this e-book, Valentines, by Ted Kooser. You’ll need to log in with your Hunter email address and password to access it.
Or how about some information on the real St. Valentine (login required) from the New Catholic Encyclopedia, courtesy of the Gale Virtual Reference Library database? It may put you off the holiday for good – St. Valentine got no roses & chocolates from his beloved.
And of course, we can hook you up with heart and valentine related images, like the following from artist Yayoi Kusama (accessed from the ARTstor database):

Glad I stumbled on this in my St. Valentines Day web search; it gives an idea to approach our neighborhood librarian to see if they have programs like this available at our branch, so we can take the kids to make crafts and such in February.
