New Addition to Health Professions Team
September 1st, 2010 by John Carey
Please join me in welcoming Monique Prince to the Hunter College Health Professions Library. Monique comes to us most recently from the DeKalb County Public Library in Georgia but is no stranger to Hunter. Monique first came to the Brookdale campus in the Fall semester of 2008 as an adjunct instructor of library sessions for the School of Urban Public Health, and prior to that she worked at the New Amsterdam Branch of the New York Public Library. Monique served as Undergraduate Services Librarian at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and received her MSLS degree from the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, one of the nation’s top-ranked library science programs. She was a co-author of the article “Growing Adult Readers: Promoting Leisure Reading in Academic Libraries”, which appeared in the Spring 2008 issue of LACUNY’s own Urban Library Journal.
This fall Monique will be staffing the reference desk as well as teaching library instruction sessions at HPL, so I encourage all members of the Brookdale community to stop by and avail themselves of her expert services!
